Advisory Board Members

Dr. Marie Cini is a frequent contributor to publications on the topics of future trends in higher education, organizational change leadership, scaling online education, and utilizing OER to increase learning quality and enhance affordability. She is past president of the board for Online Learning Consortium and serves on the boards of Motimatic and Bryant & Stratton College.

Richard DeMillo is a professor of computing and management at Georgia Tech University. He founded and directs the Center for 21st Century Universities. The author of more than 100 books, articles, and patents, DeMillo is nationally recognized for his work in higher education and technology. He is co-inventor of the field of Differential Fault Analysis and winner of Georgia Tech's ANAK prize.

Dr. Peter J. Fos is an internationally recognized decision scientist, educator and higher education administrator. He is the Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Delgado Community College, overseeing academic programs and institutional research. Dr. Fos has held leadership positions at institutions including the University of New Orleans and Louisiana State University.

Gerard L. Hanley Ph.D. is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Technology Services and Executive Director of MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) at California State University. Dr. Hanley oversees academic technology and directs the international consortium and technology strategy. He is the Director of SkillsCommons for the U.S. Department of Labor.

Dr. Robert J. Hansen is Chief Executive Officer of the University Professional & Continuing Education Association. He has established a number of initiatives through the National Council for Online Leadership. Dr. Hansen spent six years in leadership roles at Saint Xavier University of Chicago and served as Assistant to the Governor for Education in Illinois.

Robbie K. Melton, Ph.D. is a tenured full professor at Tennessee State University and formally served for twenty years as the chief administrator for the Tennessee Board of Regents'. Melton is an internationally renowned and award-winning presenter, researcher, and technology evaluator, with a mission to help us achieve digital equality, and a focus on immersive learning through technology.

Seth Odell has spent the past decade helping colleges and universities launch, grow, and manage online and on-campus programs. His work with Southern New Hampshire University was Emmy nominated and includes the university's heralded cross-country bus tour campaign. Odell is the founder of Higher Ed Live and was named International Brand Master by Education Marketing Group in 2014.

Russ Poulin is director of policy and analysis for WCET, the WICHE Cooperative for Educational Technologies, an organization focused on technology in higher education. In 2014, Poulin represented the distance education community on the U.S. Department of Education's negotiated rulemaking team that considered the agency's proposed program integrity and state authorization regulations.

Jeffrey Selingo is an author, columnist and speaker who has spent his journalism career covering colleges and universities. His book, College (Un)Bound: The Future of Higher Education and What It Means for Students, explores the college of tomorrow. Selingo's work has been recognized by the EWA, SPJ and the AP, and he appears regularly on radio and television programs.

Trace Urdan has followed the global education and knowledge services market as an equity research analyst for nearly two decades, most recently as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse. Trace is an expert in for-profit education, education technology and education policy. He has been named one of the 25 most influential people in the career college sector by Career College Central magazine.
