Overview: Faculty and Staff Training
The Learning House Department of Training and End User Support provides faculty and staff with extensive and comprehensive training and support for teaching courses online.
Learning House has developed Online Professional Training for Instructors (OPT-In), a comprehensive online curriculum that includes both technical training on the Moodle learning management system (LMS) and in-depth pedagogical training to ensure instructors are well-prepared to teach online.
Training is provided in live online sessions, as well as through on-demand presentations and interactive tutorials. Customized training sessions, both online and on campus, are also available for partner schools requiring additional services.
The technical track, Moodle Training (MT), covers the basics for using the Moodle LMS. This training program includes information regarding methods for managing and using communication features, forums, assignments and quizzes.

While the technical aspects of teaching online are essential, it is also important that instructors understand the most efficient ways to deliver a quality online course. Our OPT-In Best Practices (BP) track covers the topics necessary to successfully prepare for and deliver online instruction.
