Learning House, Inc.’s Founder and President, Dr. Denzil Edge, was a guest speaker at this year’s annual Registry for College and University Presidents. The conference was held on the first week of November in Louisville, Kentucky.  Registry President, Bryan E. Carlson, invited Dr. Edge to speak at this year’s meeting because he was “impressed with Dr. Edge’s passion to ‘save’ small colleges” and online higher education in general. At the forefront of his speech, Dr. Edge informed attendees that distance learning is a way to diversify. More importantly, online education is a way to put small colleges on a level playing field with larger universities.

New courses are on the horizon for Midway College. These courses, however, won’t come from the College’s traditionally offered online programs. This spring, Midway College Online is starting a unique, new program in Homeland Security.  Believed to be the first of its kind, the program will begin with the launch of several new courses in homeland security this spring.  This one-of-a-kind online program is venturing into new waters.
