David T. Richardson joined The Learning House, Inc. in November 2007 as its Chief Executive Officer. Richardson led a group of private equity investors that made a significant investment in the company. With this additional capital and increased management resources, Richardson plans to aggressively grow the company by expanding the core online college product offering to more colleges nationwide and by increasing degree programs and student enrollments at current client institutions.
As the President of Capital Consulting Group, LLC (CCG), a management consulting firm specializing in early-stage and turnaround leadership services, Richardson has assumed senior leadership positions in many companies over the past decade.
During 2006 and 2007 Richardson was President and Chief Executive Officer of Rentalhouses.com, Inc., the second largest Internet listing service for advertising homes for rent. At RentalHouses.com, Inc. Richardson successfully raised capital, grew revenue, and sold the company to its largest competitor Consumer Source, Inc., owned by Primedia.
From 2003 to 2005 Richardson was President and Chief Executive Officer of Keller Furniture, Inc., a 125 year old publicly traded furniture manufacturing company. At Keller, Richardson wound down and sold a large multi-factory legacy organization, acquired a new operating business in the custom residential entry door industry named Paragon Door Designs, Inc., and negotiated the successful settlement of a $4.9 million underfunded pension liability with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation for $400,000.
Prior to Keller, Richardson led the restructuring and sale of two companies – a professional staffing and recruiting firm named Pinnacle Solutions, LLC and an audio/video technology integration company named Axxis, Inc. – while also advising other clients.
From 1998 to 2001, Richardson was Vice President of Finance at High Speed Access Corp. (HSAC), a venture-backed broadband Internet service provider, now part of Charter Communications, Inc. While Richardson served with HSAC, the company raised approximately $500 million in public and private equity and debt capital and grew from 50 to over 800 employees. Before HSAC, Richardson was a senior consultant with Coopers & Lybrand in Louisville and a commercial lender with Wachovia Bank in Atlanta.
Richardson earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1987 and an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration in 1994. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of both the American Institute of CPAs and the Kentucky Society of CPAs. Richardson resides in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky with his wife and three children.
