Victoria Alexander
Victoria Alexander is the Senior Director for Curriculum Planning and Strategy at The Learning House, Inc. She works with partner schools to create an implementation and development plan for each online program, focused toward building successful programs that will lead to growth for the institution. She is also responsible for new course development and the development of the TLH library of courses.
Ms. Alexander joined Learning House in August 2003 as the Knowledge Manager and worked directly on course creation. Through her subsequent positions of Course Developer, Instructional Designer, Manager of Content Development and Management, and Director of Publishing, she has led the development of an expansive course catalog and helped the company to shape its course creation processes.
Ms. Alexander is proud to look back and see that many of the Learning House publishing-related services currently offered were being shaped and initiated during her first few years with the company. She has had an instrumental role in the growth of the company and its library of courses from a few dozen to more than 200 online courses today.
Ms. Alexander enjoys seeing how each element of course planning builds upon and affects the others. In her current role she has a bird’s eye view of individual course activities from an online program perspective, as she advises partner schools on the courses to be included in their programs
Before joining the Learning House, Ms. Alexander attended the University of Louisville where she worked in the Office of Distance Learning Library Services for nearly four years providing support to online faculty and students. The support ranged from research assistance to consultation on copyright compliance. Ms. Alexander is also very involved in community activities to benefit others. She has helped the Dare-to-Care Kid’s Café project, as well as tutored disadvantaged youths in local low-income neighborhoods and has been involved in fundraising efforts to support children feeding programs in Africa and Asia. She is also regularly involved with church activities and programs.
